Privacy Policy

1. About this policy
This policy describes how RoofingTimber.com handles information collected through this website. Contact us at [email protected] for privacy enquiries. RoofingTimber.com is an educational and supplier-introduction website, not a timber supplier or engineering service.
Website operator: ERBIUM HOLDINGS LLC, 4030 Wake Forest Road, Ste 349, Raleigh, NC 27609, United States. Our business contact location is North Carolina, United States; our Australian and UK content does not mean we are based in those countries.
2. Information collected
- Supplier quote requests: name, email, optional phone and postcode, project type, timber type, timeline, estimated quantity and any additional details you provide. We record your agreement to supplier sharing, the wording and version shown, and the time it was recorded.
- Timber Fit Check: project preferences and contact information you choose to provide.
- Historical pergola/carport calculator submissions: name, email, optional postcode, user type, project inputs, recommendation and marketing preference. New calculator submissions are paused.
- Contact enquiries: name, email, topic and message.
- Download requests: an email address is required before we provide a downloadable resource, including the project checklist. We record your email, requested resource, source page, request time and the collection notice shown to manage download requests. This does not subscribe you to marketing or authorize unrelated promotional contact.
- Newsletter subscriptions: email, the affirmative marketing-consent wording and version, the signup source and time, and withdrawal history. Historical records may include an optional name; they are not treated as marketing permission without recorded affirmative consent. Newsletter signup is optional and separate from downloads and quote requests. Withdraw using your personal unsubscribe link or contact [email protected].
- Site operation: page paths and timestamps for basic usage counts, and technical request information processed by hosting and security systems. Optional Google Analytics can collect device/browser details, visited pages and cookie identifiers after you accept analytics.
Please do not include sensitive personal information in project descriptions or contact messages.
3. Purposes and supplier sharing
We use submitted information to respond to enquiries, provide requested tools or content, and match quote requests with timber suppliers. Submitting a quote request requires a separate, unticked-by-default agreement to share your name, contact details and project information with suppliers so they can respond with quotes.
We may receive a fee from suppliers for these introductions. This is a commercial sharing arrangement; it is not a promise that your details remain exclusively with us. Quote consent does not authorise unrelated marketing. Requesting a quote is free and does not oblige you to buy anything.
Suppliers are independent businesses responsible for their own quotes, products and handling of information. We do not guarantee a match, a response time or a purchase outcome. Contact us if you want to withdraw a request; we cannot undo a disclosure already made, but can help identify the suppliers you should contact.
4. Other recipients and international processing
Hosting and infrastructure providers process information to operate the website. Google processes optional analytics when enabled. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or to protect legal rights. We do not use quote-sharing consent as permission to provide your details for unrelated marketing.
Service providers may process information outside your country. The operator is reviewing the provider locations and applicable transfer arrangements; contact us for available details before submitting information if this affects your decision.
5. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our application removes query strings and fragments from analytics page locations and sends an empty referrer. Do not put personal information in page addresses. The website uses system-font fallbacks rather than requesting Google Fonts.
Essential storage supports site functionality and remembers your cookie preference. Google Analytics is disabled until you select “Accept analytics”. “Reject optional” leaves it disabled. You can change your choice using in the footer. Withdrawing consent disables analytics, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop its script. Withdrawal does not remove information already sent to Google.
AdSense advertising is currently paused while an appropriate advertising consent platform is arranged. Accepting analytics does not enable advertising. Basic first-party page counts do not use analytics cookies; operational systems may still process request information to deliver and secure the site.
When you accept optional analytics, we may record supplier-introduction CTA clicks and successful requests through Replit-hosted analytics, if enabled. These custom events contain only the reference-page path and placement, not your name, contact details or project text. A reference-page path is also stored with a quote request to provide context, independently of optional analytics. Event counts cover only visitors who consent and whose tracker is available; they are not a complete lead count.
For Google's processing practices, see Google's Privacy Policy. Product links may take you to third-party websites with their own privacy and cookie practices.
6. Affiliate links
We may earn a commission when you purchase through affiliate links, at no extra cost to you. Disclosures appear before our affiliate purchase links. As an Amazon Associate, RoofingTimber.com earns from qualifying purchases.
7. Retention and requests
We use the information for the purposes described above and for applicable record-keeping obligations. Retention is currently reviewed manually; this site does not claim automatic deletion after a fixed period. We are establishing a documented retention schedule that also addresses backups, consent evidence and supplier copies.
You can request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of marketing consent by emailing [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity and may need to retain certain information for legal reasons. We aim to respond within 30 days; applicable legal deadlines take precedence. Supplier-held information may require a separate request to that supplier.
8. Security and incidents
The site uses administrative access controls and is intended to be accessed over HTTPS. No system is completely secure. We do not make an unverified claim about database encryption at rest. If an incident occurs, we will assess it, take containment steps and make notifications required by applicable law.
9. Complaints and regional rights
Contact us first with a privacy concern. Depending on which laws apply, you may have rights to object to processing, restrict processing or request portability, and may complain to a regulator. Australian enquiries can be directed to the OAIC; UK enquiries to the ICO. This policy does not certify compliance or limit statutory rights.
10. Children and changes
This site is intended for adults planning construction projects. Do not submit children's information. Contact us if it has been submitted so we can assess removal. We will update this page when our practices change and provide any further notice or consent request required by law.
