Environmental performance depends on the product, sourcing, transport, service life and end-of-life assumptions. We do not provide a universal carbon ranking or claim that all timber products are carbon-negative.
Ask for product-specific evidence
- Which certification scheme and exact product claim apply? Check certificates and chain-of-custody documentation with the relevant scheme.
- Is there a current environmental product declaration? Compare only compatible functional units, lifecycle boundaries and methodologies.
- Where was the product sourced and manufactured, and what transport and treatment are involved?
- What maintenance, expected service conditions, reuse and disposal assumptions support the claim?
